Chicago Midwinter Meeting 2020

On February 21-22, 2020, Dr. Jarod Johnson and our staff, participated in the Chicago Midwinter Meeting 2020, hosted by the Chicago Dental Society. Dr. Jarod and the staff were able to attend Continuing Education Courses in order to stay up to date on the changes in the dental field and provide better care for our patients. In addition to attending courses they were able to network with fellow colleagues through alumni and social events.

Chicago Dental Society

The mission of the Chicago Dental Society is to promote the oral health of the public by advancing the art and science of dentistry. Each year it hosts the Chicago Midwinter Meeting, one of the largest dental conventions in the United States, in Chicago, IL.

Take-Aways from the Chicago Midwinter

Dr. Jarod and our staff attended continuing education courses on behavior management, responding to pediatric patient emergencies, dental technology, and mission trips. Dr. Jarod was able to educate fellow dentists and representatives about the use of dental materials at the SDI North America booth on Saturday. The staff were also able to enjoy some time together away from the dental office. Dr. Jarod attended the University of Iowa Alumni reception and was able to network with his classmates and colleagues. During the meeting and social events Dr. Jarod and the staff were able to meet Miss USA Cheslie Kryst.

Dr. Jarod has received advanced training in behavior management, sedation, hospital dentistry, trauma, special health care needs, interceptive orthodontics, space maintenance, oral hygiene, and dietary counseling. His energetic personality allows him to relate to kids on an individual level. He understands the importance of children having a positive dental experience and strives to provide the best care tailored to each child’s needs. Dr. Jarod enjoys educating children and their families on the importance of oral health so they can establish good habits for a lifetime of smiles. His goal is to develop relationships with each of his patients to establish a dental home that is welcoming from infancy through adolescence.
