Coronavirus Policy

March 14, 2020

To the community and families we serve,

I would like to provide you with an update given current circumstances and concerns around the Coronavirus (COVID-19).  At our office the safety of our patients, staff, and vendors is our top priority.  We have been contacted by Muscatine Public Health and are following additional precautions to ensure the safety of everyone who comes to our office and developed a coronavirus policy.  Our team has been updated on the situation by taking a 1.5 hour Continuing Education Course.  We will continue to follow Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Guidelines and stay informed on any new developments.

In addition, we will also continue to practice infection control as regulated by the Centers for Disease Control.  We have removed toys and magazines from our waiting room to help reduce the potential for disease transmission.  We are offering the opportunity to disinfect hands before and after leaving the office to all patients and family members.  We encourage all to cover their cough, and practice hand washing regularly throughout the day.

Coronavirus Policy

To prevent the virus from entering our office, we are actively screening patients by phone and rescheduling visits as necessary to avoid treating those who could be sick.  If you, your child, or someone that you care for is at high risk for complications from the virus we are happy to reschedule your appointment to a later date.  We also ask that you contact us to reschedule your appointment if you have:

  • Fever
  • Cough
  • Shortness of Breath
  • History of travel outside of the US within the last 14 days
  • Been in contact with someone who has the coronavirus or flu, or other illnesses that could be transmitted

We will reschedule appointments for those present with symptoms in order to maintain patient and staff safety.  We also ask that you minimize the number of people that come into our office who are not involved in patient care.  In the situation of an emergency with current symptoms contact our office and we will make appropriate accommodations on a case by case basis.

If you have any concerns our questions about our coronavirus policy, please contact our office.
