Let’s face it, getting kids to brush their teeth can sometimes be a difficult task.  While there are many ways to make brushing an exciting time, some children may be turned off by the flavor of toothpaste.

Look for a Toothpaste with Fluoride

The amount of toothpaste products on the market can make selecting one for your child confusing.  There are some general guidelines to help in your search; giving your child a great flavored toothpaste can make your child excited about their oral health. This can make them enjoy brushing more regularly, which is important to prevent cavities and fight gum disease. When searching for an toothpaste for your child, keep the following in mind:

  • Consult with your dentist on the use of toothpaste, especially if your child is under two
  • Choose a toothpaste with fluoride
  • Check for an ADA Seal of Approval to ensure the effectiveness of the product
  • There are many children’s toothpaste flavors, choose one your child will enjoy

Bubble Gum Toothpaste

One of the most common flavors of toothpaste for children is bubble gum, and why not?  Most kids enjoy the fruity taste that bubble gum is derived from.  It should be easy to find at the store or locate online as many of the major manufacturer’s make the product, both Crest and Colgate, make a bubble gum children’s toothpaste flavor.
