The Hall Technique
Wednesday, May 27th, 2020 5:00 PM PST – 8:00 PM EDT
Course Description
Due to the current coronavirus pandemic dental healthcare professionals have become concerned with patient and provider safety due to the transmission of the disease through aerosols. A shift has been made to care for pediatric patients using minimally invasive dentistry.
One treatment modality that providers are familiar with is the indirect pulp cap. A technique where dental decay is sealed within a tooth using a restorative material. The seal starves bacteria from substrate, and as long as the seal is maintained the cavity does not progress. One method of obtaining this seal is through the placement of a stainless steel crown without drilling or local anesthetic by using the Hall Technique.
This webinar will discuss minimally invasive dentistry for pediatric patients with a focus the Hall Technique.
Upon completion of this CE webinar, the student will be able to:
- Understand advantages and disadvantages of the Hall Technique
- Properly assess which teeth are candidates for the Hall Technique
- Explain to caregivers the science behind the Hall Technique, and properly obtain informed consent
- Utilize the Hall Technique to improve access to care for children
